Foraging Wild Edibles Workshop

June 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Whether for fun or for survival, knowing what wild things are edible is a great skill to have. Join us Saturday, June 15th, from 10am-12pm at the Clair Nelson Center to learn about wild edibles with Kurt Mead, Tettegouche State Park Interpretive Naturalist. We’ll cover a wide variety of wild foods that can be gleaned for free, and touch on what can or cannot be picked in a State Park. What are your favorite wild foods?

After an interactive slide show and discussion, weather permitting, those who wish can take a guided walk on the wild edibles side to see what we can identify. Wear comfortable walking shoes (and come prepared for bugs) for the walk.

This class is made possible by a collaboration between the North Shore AgroEcology Center and the Finland Food Chain, with a grant from the Laura Jane Musser Fund.
