Moose Goose Farm Presents: Life with Livestock

Join us for an on-farm workshop by Jonathan Beauchane of Moose Goose Farm:
“I started building my farm in 2020 when I got my first chickens. Two years later I added pigs; then goats in 2023. My goal is to bring cows onto the farm in the next few years. I have personally built all of the farm’s infrastructure from the ground up. Winters can be tricky, but I have found ways to keep them fairly easy. Trust me, daily work is not hard, it only takes me about 30 minutes each day.
In this workshop I will walk you through the daily chores of raising chickens, pigs and goats. I will explain building and containment techniques, breeding, birthing, moving, milking, butchering, and overwintering of animals for an hour and a half. The second half will be a hands on fence building experience for those who wish to stay.”
This is a free class made possible by the Finland Food Chain, North Shore AgroEcology Center, and a generous grant from the Laura Jane Musser Foundation.
