Suckers! From EWW to MMM!

The suckerfish have started running! Join us this Tuesday evening for a hands-on workshop at the creek.
Tuesday, May 26th at 4:30pm
Meet at the Clair Nelson Center to carpool together the creek
(6866 Cramer Rd, Finland, MN 55603)
Elaine Heine will demonstrate her method of catching, cleaning, and brining suckerfish, and will share how she smokes and stores hers using any old backyard grill, charcoal, and aluminum foil. We will meet at the Clair Nelson Center to carpool to the creek for harvest, then return back to the community center kitchen to practice cleaning, filleting, and brining. While we will not be smoking or canning during the workshop, Elaine will go through the process and share her tips and tricks. Participants are welcome to coordinate smoking and canning their fish together after the workshop, or just prep their fish for the freezer and fresh eating.
This is a free class made possible by the Finland Food Chain, North Shore AgroEcology Center, and a generous grant from the Laura Jane Musser Foundation.
Make sure to RSVP below for updates! If you are having trouble with online registration, please email farmmanager@organicconsumers.org to RSVP.
