Join local syruper Jenna Pollard for a hands-on maple syruping demonstration on Sunday, April 13th at 3pm. Unlike large-scale producers, Jenna makes just a few gallons of syrup each year for personal use, making her setup a great example for small-scale homesteaders. During this 2–3 hour event, she will lead participants through her sugar bush, explaining various sap collection methods and demonstrating her own favorite tapping techniques. Then, she’ll guide the group to her sugar shack to show how she boils sap, finishes it into syrup, tests for sugar content, and bottles the final product. Throughout the demonstration, Jenna will discuss the many different ways to collect and process sap. The event will wrap up with a delicious treat—fresh maple syrup over ice cream!
