The AgroEcology Center is a new project of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), an online and grassroots non-profit public interest organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability, nationally headquartered in Finland, MN. The OCA deals with crucial issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, children’s health, corporate accountability, Fair Trade, environmental sustainability and other key topics.
The Center is located across the road from OCA office in Finland. It is the second on-the-ground project for the OCA focusing on research, application and demonstration of regenerative farming practices. (Their first project, Via Organica, is a Regenerative Food Hub located in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Visit their website and learn about them here!)
The AgroEcology Center is comprised of two parcels. The smaller parcel is 1.5 acres, where the farmhouse, barn and bio-garden are located, and is envisioned as the location for hosting events in the future. The larger 10 acre parcel across the road is dedicated to more intensive design, production, research & education. It is here that the newly installed Deep Winter Greenhouse resides.
