Food Producers Visioning Session

May 11 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Are you interested in producing more food for your family or for sale in the local community? The Finland Food Chain and the North Shore AgroEcology Center are partnering this year to provide workshops on all sorts of food production topics including vegetable gardening, fruit and nut tree cultivation, foraging, beekeeping, poultry and livestock raising, and more!
We received a grant from the Laura Jane Musser Fund which will make this workshop series completely free and allows us to purchase relevant materials for all participants. We want your input on what workshops and resources to prioritize, so we will be hosting a community lunch and visioning session on Saturday, May 11th from 12 – 2pm at the Clair Nelson Center. We invite anyone with any interest in food production to attend, whether you want to raise a few backyard chickens, are interested in starting a farm business, or anything in between.
Lunch will be provided! We will serve local foods prepared by Dan Cahill Mathews of Baptism River Barbecue Co including Yker Acres Pork Carnitas. We invite attendees to bring a taco/burrito topping or dessert to share potluck-style if you feel so inclined.
If you cannot attend, not to worry! We will be sharing out a survey for any interested participants to share their ideas and feedback. Be sure to RSVP on the Facebook event for updates.
